ro*co films international was founded by Annie Roney and is a leading international and educational distributor of documentary films and is co-curator of the OWN Documentary Film Club (Oprah Winfrey Network). ro*co films is respected and renowned worldwide in international documentary distribution.

What do we do?

As documentary distributors, ro*co films licenses documentary films to the international market, the US educational market, and, through our partnership with the OWN Documentary Film Club, the US broadcast market.

International Documentary Distribution: ro*co films maintains strong relationships with international broadcasters and theatrical distributors to license documentaries around the world.
Educational Documentary Distribution: ( ro*co films develops an educational sales strategy that connects a documentary film to the professors, librarians and teachers most likely to be interested in purchasing the US educational rights.
OWN Documentary Film Club: ( ro*co films Co-curates the OPRAH WINFREY NETWORK (OWN) Documentary Film Club. ro*co films reviews all submissions for the club and selects films for consideration by OWN’s Chief Creative Officer, Lisa Erspamer and Documentary Club curator Rosie O’Donnell.

Founded by Annie Roney in 2000, ro*co films, international documentary distributors, remains committed to finding audiences around the world for the best documentaries of our day. With eight Oscar-nominated and or/winning documentary films under our watch, as well as a slate of award-winning film festival documentaries, ro*co films has earned the trust and respect of both the filmmaking community and the people who give their films a platform. ro*co films has the privilege of providing documentary film distribution for a wonderful community of well-respected documentary filmmakers, including among others, Morgan Spurlock (, Alex Gibney (, Ross Kauffman, Janet Cole, Annie Sundberg, Ricki Stern, Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady.
