Filmmaker and journalist Gotham Chopra embarks on a year-long roadtrip with his father Deepak Chopra to reconcile the spiritual icon with the real man known to his family. From devoted disciples ranging from Lady Gaga to lost souls searching for themselves in red rock deserts, Gotham paints a raw portrait of his dad that only a son can.

Ultimately what emerges is a picture of Deepak that while reminiscent of other popularized Indian gurus, is more dad than demigod. Full of flaws, foils, intelligence, and irreverence, the decoded Deepak uncovered by his son’s honest scrutiny is a symbol of both a world searching for answers in the most unlikely places and a deeper plunge into the meaning of identity itself.

We distribute films globally but we only hold the rights in particular territories in some cases.

  • In-person screening: This license includes the public performance rights required to host a screening for your group and a DVD copy of the film
  • Virtual screening: A link and code that are available for a single 72 hour period
  • Streaming subscriptions: Ongoing streaming access for an institution provided by our partner, Film Platform.  Please note it takes 3-5 business days to get your streaming access set up.  Questions about your set-up – contact [email protected].
