Nuclear Now
As fossil fuels accelerate climate change, the world is finally confronting the influence of big oil and the tactics that have enriched a few for generations. Meanwhile, Uranium atoms beneath the Earth’s crust hold vast energy potential, unlocked in the mid-20th century for bombs and later electricity. As societies began transitioning to nuclear power, a PR campaign—partly funded by coal and oil interests—spread fear about low-level radiation and blurred the lines between nuclear weapons and nuclear energy, stalling progress.
With unprecedented access to the nuclear industry in France, Russia, and the United States, iconic director Oliver Stone explores the possibility for the global community to overcome challenges like climate change and reach a brighter future through the power of nuclear energy – an option that may become a vital way to ensure our continued survival sooner than we think.
